Standard interface cable and SCSI host adapter. An unused drive power cable for your new drive. Motor Start — Disable motor start default. Delay Motor Start — Disable Delay motor start default. Write Protect — Write Protect Off default. Parity Check — Enable Parity check default. Terminator Power — Host adapter or other device provides term power default.
Attach Cables and Mount the Drive: Attach one end of the interface cable to the connector on the host adapter. Attach the interface connector and a power connector to the drive. Secure the drive using four UNC mounting screws. DO NOT over-tighten the screws. Bootable CD is discovered 2.
There pops up a third line from Windows Bootstrap installation and the "blue environment" installation of Windows starts. It detects PERC but at the very end says it could not discover any harddrive attached to the computer. One end was plugged to SCSI board controller, second to the disk. Guess what.. All the disks are fine. Any idea from Dell msg board people would be highly appreciated.

I did have a personal 18GB 15k that stopped working. Would want the 80pin as the main drive, don't need that much space for Windows and the applications. The 68 will be my experiment drive example trying another OS and will install PC games there because new games consume lot of space but don't want them on the main drive nor on the sata drives.
Though they are scsi drives, it's not intended to be used as a server I'll just use them on my normal ATX case. Downloaded the manual. The jumper settings begin on page 47 that's where I set the jumpers too. Hope all goes well. It is simply a way to identify a SCSI device on a channel. As long as you don't have duplicate settings, you can configure the drives any way you want.
